Welcome to RUN, GURN, GURN! Gurn is a fast-paced 1v1 FPS where you and another player battle it out in a variety of Arenas to defeat your opponent and claim victory!
In Gurn, you can play as 1 of 2 characters against your opponent in local multiplayer 1v1 matches! Run around our 7 different arenas as you pick up ammo and health to keep the fight going, and use ur characters unique abilities to win the round by bringing you opponents health to 0, where the first person to win 3 rounds, wins the match! There is a twist, whenever a player loses 1 round, they are offered 3 random upgrades to their character, once the player has chosen 1 of the 3, the next round starts.

GURN
As one of the teams 2 level Designers, it was up to my colleague and I to craft different environments to faciliate the fast-paced and high octane gameplay that we identified as one of our pillars. We often drew inspiration from games such as Doom Eternal and the Titan Fall franchise as touch stones for our design.
Making Levels for our Characters
Since we have 2 characters, 1 who is ranged (Major) and another who is melee (Featherstep), balancing has always been a concern. Alongside tweaking values to balance characters against each other, we as level designers tried to design levels in such a way that neither character was at a disadvantage. This included mixing in areas of open sight lines to benefit Major's ranged game play, and more cluttered areas with lots of cover to benefit Featherstep's melee game play.
Designing around resources and positioning
Since ammo can only be replenished by pick ups floating throughout the level, we had to make sure that if there was a very strong position for Major to hold in a level, that the ammo pick ups were spread out away from that location. This way we ensure that Major cannot camp a spot and make the game unplayable for Featherstep. If Major has a location with a good sight line and ammo pick ups nearby, the location will designed to be exposed and have mobility items such as bouncepads or barswings allowing Featherstep to quickly close the distance and fight.
